Q. What is the difference between EMS, ECU and ECM?
A. In general terms, they all mean the same. EMS is an acronym for Engine Management System, ECU-Engine Control Unit, ECM-Engine Control Module.

Q. Why do I need programmable EMS?
A. Programmable Engine Management System is required when the standard spec fixed behavior OEM EMS are not enough. (Like changing power curve just for driving style) and to support any changes made on your engine be it simple intake to a fully blown turbo setup etc.

Q. Though my car is not modified can I still use EMS?
A. Yes we have seen good gains on a stock car without any modifications.

Q. Can Race Dynamics EMS be used on any engine?
A. Race dynamics EMS can be used on almost all petrol engine cars. 4,5,6 and 8 cylinder engine dynamics and all types of CRDi diesel engines.

Q. What should I look for when selecting my Engine Management System?
A. There are many differences between Engine Management Systems. Things to look at include : The number of inputs and outputs. Having more inputs and outputs offer more fuctionality in the way of ignition and injection types as well as extra devices.

Q. Will Race Dynamics EMS work after market igination?
A. The Race Dynamics is compactiable with factory and after market igination system.

Q. Is Race Dymanics sequential fire?
A. Yes our EMS system can handle batch, semi-sequential system.

Q. Can we repair EMS?
A. Race Dynamics are free from component manufacturing defects. In case of EMS fault detected you must immediately contact your nearest Race Dynamics dealer. Only Race Dynamics person can repair or replace the EMS unless not tempered with the EMS. Race Dynamics EMS comes with six months warranty from the date of purchase.

Q. Will Race Dynamics control SRS, transimmion and ABS brakes etc?
A. No, our systems are desingned only for Engine Management.

Q. Will the Race Dynamics ECU work with the turbo?
A. The Race Dynamics ECU is compatible with all types of forced induction. When used with the proper map sensor. You need to figure the injector sizing.

Q. How much extra BHP will my engine make?
A. BHP gain expected is based on how well you can map the EMS. The EMS needs values, know commonly as maps, to be set-up by user. When we setup the EMS, we have seen gains ranging anywhere between 5% - 20% based on the state engine and its modification.

Q. Can tuning of my car be done myself?
A. You can certainly tune your car using RD ECM model RD0601 and above, however we stongly recommend to take the car to an tuner if you are unsure about the tuning procedure.
